Six on Saturday is a lovely community of gardeners from around the world, sharing six things from their garden, you guessed it, on Saturdays. Here’s my six for this week, though I’ve cheated slightly with 9 photos!
- The tulips are well on their way. As always I’ve forgotten the variety names but I think the yellow/red one is going to be a parrot variety judging by the petals I can see so far.
- Next up a new butterfly lavender I bought a couple of weeks ago. It has already marked itself out as quite temperamental, having collapsed entirely several times. I may have to move it into the shade, which feels bizarre for a mediterranean plant.
- The rhododendron collection is coming along nicely. The inherited plant is just about to flower and the plant I brought with me has several blooms already.
- My usual hellebore picture – I’m still astonished this plant has had a second go at flowers, it’s looking lovely.
- The violas are also having a second shot at best in garden, the rain we’ve had in the last week seems to have perked them up and they have lots of new flowers again.
- Finally a new arrival to the garden has flowered. We’ve had an armeria plant before, but this is a new variety Armada Pink. We’ve previously had a white variety. It is jokingly referred to as Teenage Boy here, as it always looks like it could do with a decent hair cut.

That’s all for this week.
